DESCRIPTION: 8.5 fl oz / 250 ml
Are you looking for lightweight and elastic hair?
Are you looking to combat hair loss?
Original Bioscal® Hair Conditioner was developed specifically for thinning hair and to complement and support the Original Bioscal® hair treatment system. Individuals that are struggling with thinning, rapid or excessive hair loss require a conditioner that corresponds with their needs and counteracts the aforementioned issues. The term "conditioner" is not well-defined in the beauty industry and covers a multitude of products that are used for diverse purposes. The selection of conditioner is increasingly important since some conditioners may counteract the desired use of the customer.
This conditioner has the following benefits and positive effects:
- pH adjusted conditioning rinse that, unlike most other conditioners, does not leave a heavy build-up;
- Restores and maintains elasticity to hair, moisturizes hair and the scalp while supporting the restoration of vigorous hair regeneration;
- Light-weight, conditioning and hydrating formula softens hair while it penetrates dry, immature or damaged strands to strengthen and make the hair more resilient; and
- Rinses cleanly and leaves the hair silky and vibrant.
Bioscal® recommends the following guidance and usage:
- After shampooing with Original Bioscal® Hair Shampoo, rinse well and apply generously to wet hair;
- Please ensure that you leave in the conditioner for over 60 seconds so the active ingredients can perform to ameliorate the hair follicles;
- For best results during treatment and prevention of hair loss, it is recommended that Original Bioscal® Hair conditioner is used in conjunction with Original Bioscal® hair care products such as Original Bioscal® Hair Energy Concentrate, Hair and Scalp Revitalizer and Shampoo;
- If the hair loss is connected with any scalp disorder, medical treatment or any other illnesses, please consult your doctor; and
- For external use only.

If you’re shedding more hair than usual, there could be a problem with the hair cycle. Each hair follicle, the part of the skin that produces the hair, goes through a cycle with three phases.
The growth (or anagen) phase, when a hair is actually growing, lasts from two to three years. Then there is the resting (catagen) phase, when the hairs are no longer growing, but are still attached to the head. This lasts about 100 days and is followed by the shedding (telogen) phase.
TAME THAT ITCHY SCALP
Hair loss is usually caused by problems with the natural hair cycle, but it may also be linked to your scalp health.
One trigger is scalp ringworm, a fungal infection usually passed on by towels, brushes or sheets, which can cause scaly, bald patches. Your GP will treat it with oral medication and a medicated shampoo.
Psoriasis, an inflammatory skin condition that leads to scaly, itchy plaques, can also cause hair loss.
It is treated with descaling preparations or occasionally coal tar, with steroids to reduce inflammation.
Though they don’t cause hair loss, conditions such as eczema and dermatitis can lead to the hair breaking because they irritate the scalp, prompting scratching.
The first thing to do is to identify any allergic cause — perhaps a preservative or fragrance in a hair product — and remove it.
At any one time, approximately 90 per cent of the hairs on your head are in the growth phase and between 5 and 9 per cent are ‘resting’. The remaining hairs are the ones you are losing.
However, certain factors can cut short the growth cycle and prematurely shift the hair into the shedding phase. This is known as telogen effluvium and seems to be more common in women.
POSSIBLE CAUSES: A deficiency in vitamins and minerals, such as vitamin D, vitamin B12 or iron, can lead to this type of hair loss, says Dr Vicky Jolliffe, a consultant dermatologist at the Royal London Hospital and an alopecia specialist. over-exercise, diets, illness and surgery can all reduce the supply of these nutrients needed for hair growth.
Stress can also cause hair loss. Dr Martin Wade, a consultant dermatologist at the London Skin and Hair Clinic, explains: ‘The growth phase can be shifted into the shedding phase by a trigger event.
‘three months later, the hair begins to shed. Three months after that, it normally recovers.’
Telogen effluvium can also be triggered by problems on the scalp (see box, top right).
Sudden overall thinning may be linked to medical conditions, such as an under-active thyroid — this slows down the normal turnover of cells, including hair cells. Polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS), where cysts form on the ovaries, affecting a woman’s levels of male hormones, can also lead to thinning hair. And certain drugs, such as anti-depressants and roaccu-tane, prescribed for acne, can trigger hair loss.
Bioscal addresses all of these issues.
